The World’s Largest Balloon Sculpture Made From 40,781 Modelling Balloons

Friday 1st October 2010

The soccer player sculpture is the largest non-round balloon sculpture in the world.
It was constructed with 40,781 non round balloons. There was no framing, line, glue
or anything outside of the inflated latex balloons. Everything pictured, (with the exception of the two designers), including the people, the goal, and the grass, were all made from balloons. A total of 44 people worked on this project in a variety of ways. Construction of the sculpture took over 640 man hours. the sculpture stood 7.6 metres tall and was about 25 metres wide. Each of the soccer players was approximately 12 metres tall.

If you are asking yourself as to why “non-round” balloons, it is because large sculptures that use round balloons require materials such as string, mono filament line, or some type of framing in order to hold them together. Modelling balloons which are most often thought of as the balloons used to make balloon doggies can be shaped and connected without the use of additional materials.

PRINCESS PARTY IDEAS that your little princess will remember forever

Sunday 1st August 2010

Princess parties only come once a lifetime, so get ready to transform your home into a magic castle and welcome your guests on a red carpet. I am providing you with a list of clever birthday party ideas which have been created by mums all over. Basic ideas that will help guide you and inspire you.

Invitations: Princess party invitations can be royal scrolls, glass princess slippers, or even castle invitations. You can really make them special by using a fancy font, calligraphy, or a golden glitter ink. Since they are usually hand delivered, you can roll them in a scroll and tie them with a bow, or seal them with an official royal wax seal. Use your imagination and get creative. Invitations do not need to be expensive.

Party decorations: Set the mood for your princess party with great balloon decorations. For example a pink balloon archway, or a princess sculpture standing at the entrance to greet your guests. What do you think of princess themed helium balloons floating around the room, with long ribbons for the girls to play with and even to take home as a thank you? When it comes to princess parties and helium balloons, Balloongram has great ideas for everyone, especially when it comes to meeting all kinds of budgets. Cover the party table in pink complimented with streamers and confetti. Create a throne for your princess to sit on, use lots of tulle, ribbon and beads, and when you’re really creative make a castle out of large boxes (painted in pink of course) for a special play area just for the birthday party.

Activities & Games: For something a little different, have your guests create their own tiaras, crowns, and paintings. Special activities will help them remember and share their event with others. A princess party, isn’t complete without some royal games and events. Games like the royal treasure hunt, pin the wings on the dragon, pass the poison apple, or musical princess chairs. Just try to adjust your birthday games to suit your princess theme.

Costumes: A princess party isn’t the same without all the costumes. All the princesses need to be dressed in their royal attire. If they are attending a royal ball, or having a princess tea, the magic of dress up makes the party more special. Cost effective costumes can even be made from crepe paper or satin lining. Always keep some on hand as an emergency backup.
Spotlight has a great range of fabrics, ribbons, sequins at really great prices. You will definitely be able to pickup a bargain there.

Party snacks: Don’t forget snacks and drinks for all of your royal guests. Definitely snacks and drinks that are coloured in princess pink are the favourites. Princess cookies designed in the shape of crowns, tiaras, high heel shoes, beautiful dresses are a must at every princess party.

Princess Cake: Although any royal cake will do, a castle cake is the most popular. When you prefer simple and less complicated, individual cupcakes are the best, designed with little tiaras, crowns, shoes and jewels. Think Princess, think sparkle, think glamour.

Party Favours: Finish your party with a princess party favour. A thank you gift which is loved by all. A combination of candy, chocolate hearts and princess jewels would have to be the favourites. Gift pack them in noodle boxes, organza pouches, and gift bags. Add some sparkle by adding sequins to each individual gift.

Do keep in mind that princess parties do not need to have a large budget. Money saving ideas can begin from making your own cake, party favours and basic printable invitations. The most important point to remember is to keep the flow of your princess theme and colours consistant. For example when you choose for Snow White, follow the theme through to the party favours. If you cannot find snow white accessories, use the colours of Snow White’s dress to bring out your princess theme.

See ya..
